Standards

The emerging cannabis industry needs public and regulatory support to succeed. The most effective way to gain widespread support to end cannabis prohibition and have a stable long-term cannabis industry is to promote and follow industry best practices. The emerging cannabis industry needs to be a leader in promoting responsible standards and practices.

Our members and world-renowned experts work together to develop and promote standards for the cannabis industry. These standards are an amalgam of existing and proposed standards that in many cases will exceed minimum regulatory standards in place. ICCCO members identify these proposed standards as the current highest priority:

  • It is the position of the International Coalition of Compassionate Cannabis Organizations (ICCCO) that a standard intoxicating dose of cannabis is developed.
  • It is the position of the International Coalition of Compassionate Cannabis Organizations (ICCCO) that modern on-site oral cannabis tests that directly measure THC intoxication are adopted by all law enforcement agencies, the legal-justice system and companies for the standard for determining driving under the influence and workplace drug testing.
  • It is the position of the International Coalition of Compassionate Cannabis Organizations (ICCCO) that retail packaging for medical and recreational cannabis at a minimum shows the percentage of medically- and psycho-active cannabis compounds as interim labeling standards until a standard dose for intoxication is developed.

ICCCO will continue to develop and publish standards and best practices in all areas and aspects of the cannabis industry.
